Uninstall Widevine completely without Brave updates reinstalling Brave

I want to uninstall Widevine through the steps in How to completelly remove Widevine from Brave (Ubuntu)? - #2 by Mattches
This deletes the WidevineCRM components in the Brave directory succesfully, however upon updating the browser the components are re-installed. It is a philosophical preference to rather have Widevine completely evade my computer, I do not trust Google to not ship out some malware update sooner or later that capitalizes on anti-ad inhibitions and what not.

Expected result:
Delete Widevine purposefully, and have it stay uninstalled even through updates. The only way to reinstall it, in a way that I have personally confirmed, is through simply going back to a website like Netflix that asks you to enable it. Right now, Brave does indeed reinstall the DRM component when you re-enable it through the settings, and re-launch your browser.

Brave Version( check About Brave):
Version 1.56.14 Chromium: 115.0.5790.114 (Official Build) (64-bit)

@aocorporation,
To clarify, if you toggle the Widevine setting “off” (in Settings --> Extensions) and then delete the Widevinecdm folder from User data and relaunch, the component still downloads?

No, rather, when the client updates, the component will download. Or when you manually re-enable it and re-launch, it will re-download. Hope this helps.
