Google Widevine is continually being re-installed to Brave, this is happening without my explicit consent (my slider states that I should be asked before installation). I have identified this issue through the daily use of HitmanPro which is now repeatedly uploading the Google Widevine application to Cloud as a ‘Malware suspect’.

Please could I ask that my preferences vs non installation of Widevine without my explicit consent be respected?

Thanks.

Additional Information:

@Balmerino,
I believe that Widevine gets installed browser-wide and will remain so. I know that in the future we plan to have the cdm run on a “per-session” basis but that work is a bit further down the road.

What you can do, however, is close the browser, go to ~\AppData\Local\BraveSoftware\Brave-Browser\User Data\ and delete the Widevinecdm folder found here.
