Unable to login to British Airways

Unable to login on https://www.britishairways.com/ using brave (Version 1.63.165 Chromium: 122.0.6261.94)

Tested with brave shields up and down, and on private mode.

Works fine with Firefox/Edge/Chrome

@antuk,
Can you share a screenshot of the console output in the dev tools window? You can do this by:

  1. Launch Brave and visit https://www.britishairways.com/
  2. Open the dev tools console window (Menu --> More tools --> Dev tools --> [Console])
  3. Attempt to login to the website
  4. When you see the same issue occur, simply take a screenshot (or copy/paste if it’s easier) the output that appears in the console window and share it here

Thank you

Sometimes I get this instead, same message in the console though

@antuk,
Thank you for the information.
One more test here — can you please try logging in using a Private browsing window?

I already tried, same error as above - the high demand one

Still an issue? if you have a VPN does it matter switching locations?

Its Brave not my connection… works fine on Edge/Chrome/Firefox

I’ve made some changes on our end, I am assuming they’re detecting Brave and not displaying this. Default Shields needs to be up

I was only suggesting a VPN to see if we got a different result from a different location, was more of an experiment thats all.

I asked my friend to try from his house and he had the same problem, also this may or may not be related, but on the home page before you attempt to login the main login button is missing from brave

Brave:

Interesting, so no “Login” button option? Let me investigate this further, see whats going on

Yeah, there are other ways to login, but since thats a visible difference without needing an account if it is related I thought that would be easier to debug

Temp solution, enable Fingerprinting in Shields.

Thanks for reporting

If you can test the following, see if it breaks anything? add this to brave://adblock custom rules. Save and reload. Keep fingerprinting enabled also.

britishairways.com##+js(trusted-set-cookie, publicRefreshToken, 1)
britishairways.com##+js(trusted-set-cookie, publicAccessToken, 1)

Yes that seems to work - thanks!

Do I need to keep those rules in long term, or will a future release incorporate them into the standard ruleset?

Hello @fanboynz

It seems there is a new problem now on the same website, when trying to login I get an error implying the username/password is incorrect - however it works fine when tested on Firefox

Ive tried with shields disabled, and in private mode with the same effect

Hey @fanboynz

Did you get a chance to look at this?

Will need to log a issue report, no eta on a fix. We do have fixes on fingerprinting planned

Do you know which version it broke in? Wondering if its possible/viable to roll back to an older version of brave until the issue is fixed?
