Turtle tokens are not correctly imported on Fantom Opera network

Linux Mint 19.3 (Ubuntu 18.04 based)
Brave browser: Version 1.39.111 Chromium: 102.0.5005.61 (Official Build) (64-bit)

I tried to import tokens related to Turtle project to my Brave wallet and it fails to import icons , something is broken. I tried the same import with Metamask in Chromium browser and it worked. It could be some problem related to Turtle coin page but I assume it is more likely some compatibility issue in Brave wallet. I assume Turtle coin team tested their page with Metamask wallet…

Steps to replicate:

  1. add Fantom Opera network to your Brave wallet. The easiest way to do it is at https://chainlist.org/chain/250 Scroll down and click button “Connect-wallet”; confirm action. Or add Fantom Opera network manually…

  2. Switch wallet to Fantom Opera Network

  3. Open page https://gtrtl.turtlecoin.com/ in Brave browser

  4. Connect your wallet (huge green button at the bottom of the page)

  5. Click “Add wTRTL to Wallet”; there is a link at the top of the page. Confirm action in Brave Wallet.

  6. Click “Add gTRTL to Wallet”; there is a link at the top of the page. Confirm action in Brave Wallet.

  7. Open Brave Wallet and check assets (View account assets). I cannot see icons for these new tokens (images are missing)

  8. You can replicate the process with Metamask and compare result

Screenshot of my wallet. Notice there are two invisible tokens in my wallet, I have no idea what is that…

Could you right click and Inspect on the icon. Which URL is trying to be loaded for the icons?

chrome://image/?https://github.com/turtlecoin/brand/raw/master/logo/web/icon/turtlecoin_icon.svg

chrome://image/?https://github.com/turtlecoin/brand/raw/master/logo/web/symbol/turtlecoin_symbol.svg

It seems that we don’t support svg files yet for this type of icon. I added an issue here to track:

You can use a different URL that is not SVG based in the meantime to make it work though.
