With all the space on the the new tab page why can’t I add more top site favorites without having to cycle into another list of 12?

@SJMaye you can’t. Brave leaves the space open because of Sponsored Images (New Tab Page) ads that can be displayed there. Even if you opt out of those, they won’t let you reclaim that space. Your option is just to toggle between or you can just change your start page to bookmarks instead of the dashboard.
Could you guys improve it, please? it would be nice to use full screen with resizable icons.
Agreed. I kind of like what I see with the Brave page, but this limitation has me looking for alternatives.
How do I change the start page to bookmarks?
@SJMaye If you only want it to be when you first start the browser and don’t need it to go to bookmarks every time you open a new tab page, then you would go to Settings
→ Get Started
You would notice a section there that says On Startup
and has three options. You would select the Open a specific page or set of pages
button and would type in brave://bookmarks/
With that done, whenever you open Brave it will always open on Bookmarks. But creating a new tab will go to whatever you have set for your New Tab Page
settings.
Then you would need to scroll down to New Tab Page
section of Get Started
and change it to Homepage
instead of Dashboard
Then in Settings
→ Appearance
you would enable Show Home Button
and would type in brave://bookmarks/
That is a good workaround. Thank you for explaining.
