Suggestion: Improve Latency and Animation Time for Vertical Tabs

Hello Brave Team,

First, I’d like to extend my gratitude for your continuous efforts in enhancing the Brave browser. As a dedicated user, I particularly appreciate the recent introduction of vertical tabs. They have significantly improved my browsing experience by allowing for better organization and navigation.

However, I have noticed a couple of areas where the vertical tabs feature could be further optimized to enhance usability and performance:

  1. Decrease Latency: The current latency when switching between vertical tabs is noticeable and can disrupt the workflow, especially for users who rely heavily on multitasking. Reducing the latency would result in a smoother and more responsive experience, making the transition between tabs almost instantaneous. This improvement would greatly benefit users who need to switch tabs frequently and rely on the efficiency of their browser for productivity.
  2. Expand Animation Time: The animations for opening, closing, and switching between vertical tabs are quite fast, which can make the process feel abrupt. Expanding the animation time slightly would provide a more fluid and visually pleasing experience. A smoother animation can also help in better tracking the movement of tabs, enhancing the overall user interface experience.

I believe these enhancements will not only improve the vertical tabs feature but also align with Brave’s commitment to providing a fast and user-friendly browsing experience. Thank you for considering this feedback. I’m looking forward to seeing continuous improvements in Brave!

Best regards, Maruf Hossen
