Strange transparent box overlays on lots of websites

Description of the issue:
For a long time I have noticed webpages (some we have built but also commonly other websites are impacted too) viewed only in brave, display a weird overlay transparency background blocks thing. It is annoying when a client brings it up and its only happening on brave browsers. Im wondering if its either able to be fixed browser wide or if even a suggestion on how to build our sites to stop it happening if its related to design (I don’t think it is as they don’t register in browser dev tools and don’t display on other browsers at all)

Exact URL of the website in question:
https://wildflos.com/ - in the pink sections / footer (should be solid colour)
https://www.kindredfloral.com.au/ - about and footer area
https://anatomyofflowers.com.au/ - in the footer

Did the issue present with default Shields settings? (yes/no)

Does the site function as expected when Shields are turned off?
No none of them do. (These are not our sites but some of our do it too)

Is there a specific Shields configuration that causes the site to break? If so, tell us that configuration. (yes/no):

no always displays incorrect like this

Does the site work as expected when using Chrome?
Yes displays in all other browsers correctly including chrome

Brave version (check About Brave):
v1.62.156 mac

Surprised no responses considering how common it seems to be happening on websites I visit.

I did notice it only happens/is visible in DARK MODE on brave only so I’m hoping that helps it be fixed.

** Also happening on side of the official brave support page in dark mode on the sides and hovering some accessibility links moves the weird boxes (they are not the accessibility selection boxes but something else that is strange and inconsistently shaped)

Think part of it is people aren’t replicating, like you see in the screenshots above. But other thing is somehow even I missed your topic. But at least you commenting to keep it alive was able to bring it back up and let me mess with it.

And that’s new info, which I’ll test…

And

I don’t think I’m seeing what you’re mentioning, even on dark mode. I’m also shocked those aren’t darker on dark mode, but it is what it is.

Are you able to show a screenshot or video to display what you’re experiencing?

Hi Thanks for the response.
Seems it isnt just dark mode after all.
I have a unlisted YouTube link to show the behaviour better.

You can see how it jumps around and isnt a direct component of the sites so maybe something deeper. Its not accessibility selection or selection itself as I can still do see those operating separately. So weird.
Doesn’t happen on any other browser and brave is up to date. Mac 12.7.1 but has been happening for at least a year.

One of the things I was quick to notice in that is you have at least a few extensions. Just to rule out some possibilities, could you try it in a Private window? And then if no change there, try in a new browser profile?

Testing both Private and New Profile will help on considering things like cookies, browser settings, and/or extensions. I do know I’m not seeing the same thing in any of my Brave browsers (tested on Release and Nightly) or profiles. So I’m suspecting issue should be with something external.

Tested in private window, tested with all extentions turned off, tested with new profile and still happening. So strange.

Also checked and I have no theme just stock brave theme
