Small bug with Split View

Description of the issue:
The default keyboard shortcut to trigger a new split view (ctrl + right) should not trigger it if the user is typing on the address bar. Ctrl + right (or left) are normally used while typing to skip whole words.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Open a new tab
  2. type some words on the address bar
  3. press ‘ctrl + left’ to move the cursor a word to the left
  4. press ‘ctrl + right’ to move the cursor a word to the right

Expected result:
The cursor moves a word to the right

Actual result:
A new split view tab is opened

Brave Version( check About Brave):
v1.79.123 64 bit (desktop)

Additional Information:
I really love this feature, and I think the default shortcut is ok. Its just that it clashes when typing on the address bar to look something up.

@david.kutu thanks for pointing this out. I’ll let the team know about this but in the meantime, you can go to brave://settings/system/shortcuts and set a custom shortcut command for new split view.
