Since This week (2023-08-01) I can not add new profiles in different MAC computers


Description of the issue:
Since this week I am trying in MACos add new profiles, but when I click over [+] button it does not continue

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Add new profile
  2. click over [+] button
  3. It reload the page itself and it does not show next step

Expected result:

Brave Version( check About Brave):

Version 1.56.14 Chromium: 115.0.5790.114 (Official Build) (x86_64)

Same. I’ve never had any trouble creating profiles until today when I updated to 1.57.53. However, I tried adding new profiles to 3 computers. 2 of them faied (2017 iMac and 2023 Studio) and 1 succeeded (2022 MBP). All 3 are running Ventura 13.5.1. I expected all 3 to fail. I’ve no idea why the laptop works but the 2 other machines do not…

Having the same issue on a clean install of OSX Monterey on my desktop.

It works fine on my Macbook though

Quit the enter Brave browser and restart the browser. That worked for me [Sonoma OS 14]

Getting the same issue.

Running Ventura 13.5 on a MacBook Air M2, using Brave Version 1.59.117 Chromium: 118.0.5993.70 (Official Build) (arm64).

UPDATE: I tried quitting the browser several times and it FINALLY worked on my end just now.

Having the same issue on a clean install of OSX Monterey on my desktop.
It works fine on my Macbook though. If you’re unable to add new profiles in Brave on multiple Mac computers since August 1, 2023, it could be due to a software issue. Check for updates and seek support from Brave or its community if the problem persists.

My solution to a similar problem, was just using the cli to create a new profile (MAC solution):
/Applications/Brave\ Browser.app/Contents/MacOS/Brave\ Browser --profile-directory=the-new-profile-name"
