I would like to press my Home Page button and my own specified page come up instead
of a new blank Tab which I can already get by by pressing the add(+) sign above the address bar.

So why don’t you set it to the page you want? Go to brave://settings/appearance. Then under the area that says Show Home Button it has a place where you can type in an address. If empty, it says Enter custom web address.
So if I typed in https://search.brave.com/ on that, it would go to Brave Search when I hit the home button.
