@ToastyToasty correct. It means your issue is around what I linked to. The simpler version of stating it is that Brave uses our OS login credentials to encrypt passwords. These credentials and the way it’s handled on the OS is called a keyring or safe storage.

If something happens to change this, then the “key” to unencrypt the data is lost. It sounds like whatever happened on your laptop where you did the force restart and all somehow corrupted or changed this.

It’s good that your entries are still there. Basically, Brave (or Chrome/Chromium) look at that DB and will try to decrypt it using “OSCrypt”. This is using a key specific to your machine and if it fails to decrypt the entry, it falls back on not showing that entry in the UI.

There are a few known things which can cause the OSCrypt to fail - basically when a new key gets generated. One is when Windows users have their password forcibly reset by an admin - that will cause all OSCrypt encrypted items to get lost. I’m not 100% sure on the other cases

Did you change your password by chance recently? You might be able to change it back to what it was and that might let the browser decrypt the entries
