Description of the issue:
I accidentally deleted several auto-completed search suggestions in the address bar, and I want to restore them. For example, when I type in “LinkedIn”, I used to get get suggested searches such as the LinkedIn.com/home or LinkedIn.com/notifications. But I’ve accidentally deleted a few of those suggestions from my search results by hitting the “x” on the right of the suggestions, and I’d like to restore them, because now I don’t have a way to get directly to one of the main pages on LinkedIn. Can someone help me restore auto-suggested/auto-completed results?
How can this issue be reproduced?
Type part of a URL of a website that you frequently go to in the address bar
When you see the auto-completed suggestions that pop up, hover over one of the suggestions and click on the “x” that appears on the right side of the line. That will delete the suggestion.
Try to restore the suggestion in your browser.
Expected result:
Clicking the “x” will delete the auto-suggestion.

Hey, I totally get how frustrating it can be to lose those handy auto-completed search suggestions in Brave, especially for something like the Home Loans site, where you might want quick access to specific pages like their login or mortgage calculator. Unfortunately, Brave doesn’t have a built-in way to directly restore deleted auto-complete suggestions once you’ve hit that “x” in the address bar. Those suggestions are pulled from your browsing history, bookmarks, or frequently visited sites, so when you delete them, they’re removed from the browser’s suggestion database.
One thing you can try is to rebuild the suggestions by revisiting the exact pages you want to show up again. For example, if you accidentally deleted the suggestion for “imperialhomeloans. com/ login” or something similar, go directly to that page a few times by typing the full URL or finding it through a search engine. Brave should start recognizing it as a frequent site and may bring it back as a suggestion after a few visits. Another option is to bookmark the specific Imperial Home Loans, pages you use often, like their home page or application portal. Bookmarks can influence Brave’s suggestions, so go to the page, click the star icon in the address bar, and save it to your bookmarks. You could also check your browsing history (Menu > History) to see if the deleted URLs are still there and visit them again to boost their priority.
I found some chatter on the Brave Community forums about similar issues, and people mentioned that clearing the entire browsing history and starting fresh sometimes helps reset suggestions, but that’s a bit drastic and might not guarantee getting your exact suggestions back. There’s no “undo” button for deleted suggestions, which is a bummer. If you’re syncing Brave across devices, make sure sync is on for history and bookmarks, as that might pull in data from another device where the suggestions still exist. Otherwise, it’s mostly about retraining Brave by visiting those sites pages again. Anyone else got a trick for this?
