Received less BATs than accumulated through last month

Last month I gathered approx. between 2.70 and 2.80 BATs. However, the claimed amount was just 2.00. Why the difference?

What Operating System and Brave version are you using ( Menu --> About Brave )?
I am using windows 10 and Brave 1.33.106

Is your browser wallet currently verified? (yes/no)
No

Have you been able to successfully receive payments in the past?
Yes

Are you using a VPN? (yes/no)
No

Are you in a supported region (see here for list of supported regions)?
Yes

Me too but I’m worse. Last month December 2021, I only received 0.25 BAT and this is my main browser. I literally lived on the internet using Brave for the last 6 months. What going on?

Here is my proof

@wretch Don’t forget that our browser doesn’t identify exactly which ads we watched. It just knows how many notifications it sent and then tries to give a rough estimate of what we’ll earn. They process the specifics as it gets closer and then also adjust based on what BAT value was over the past 30 days. If BAT value is higher than normal, we’ll receive less BAT.

Usually the estimate is to our advantage, but that’s not always the case. Seeing as how Brave Ads tend to average about 0.005 BAT each (though can pay more), you’d have to consider that your 2 BAT would mean you saw roughly 400 ads, which is pretty good.

In terms of BAT value, it was over $1.00 per BAT, with a high of around $1.49 and a lot of $1.18. For the bulk of 2021, BAT value was less than $0.60 each. Some advertisers pay using BAT and others pay based on USD which is then converted to BAT.

Combine those changes along with idea that we’re always an estimate, I’d say that’s what you’re looking at. Not sure if these might help you, but here’s some related posts from Brave staff talking about similar issues.
