Random uncontrollable clicking and cursor

Assuming there was a graphics card conflict, I disabled hardware acceleration in the browser, switched from Open GL 2.0 to 3.1 in the system-wide settings, and disabled the touch pad and touch screen with ‘xinput float’ at startup, which I’d done previously due to a similar clicking/cursor behavior with the touch screen, but this problem keeps arising.

This only occurs in the Chrome-based browsers I’ve used (Chromium and Brave), not in Firefox, or any other desktop application. I deleted the settings folder, rebooted, and the problem stopped briefly, then started again, possibly after I installed the Google Docs Offline extension. Things are fine now after removing the Google Translate and Google Docs Offline extensions, but I welcome suggestions and theories in case this problem returns.
