Hi there, I have a question… if BAT is paid for the advertisers the user (we) see on websites. What about the real advertising for the website? Does BAT take over them and show a completely different ad, or do the real advertising for that website also pay up? Because i don’t see how. Only by interchanging a websites ads, can you pay your subscribers, but that website that i enjoyed has its own ads? Do these ads also get paid, while I receive BAT? Or are they completely overridden?
@thofoxolody your question(s) are far from how Brave works. You may wish to go read through some content like below to get a better understanding of Rewards.
It’s not. Brave has nothing to do with ads on websites, except that you can use Shields to block them. You don’t get paid for their ads or anything.
By default it’s blocked. You can disable Shields to allow ads if you want them, but that’s up to you. Either way, has no impact at all on BAT
Neither.
Again, doesn’t work that way.
If you want to view them to support that website, disable Shields which is the built-in adblocker. Just keep in mind that most ads are also trackers. These collect and sell your information, which is why they are blocked by default. There’s always a risk of malware and all from them as well. This is why ads from websites generally are avoided and not recommended.
If you block ads on a website, you aren’t viewing. This means the website owner isn’t making money.
If you’re participating in Rewards, you can always tip the website…assuming they have signed up as a Creator. This is the way Brave has to make sure people can support content creators while also maintaining privacy. If a website you like is not a Creator, you may want to tell them to sign up so you and others can send tips.
