Description of the issue:
An insecure connection icon is displayed on many sites (even when they have SSL certificates and are HTTPS). Reloading the page will remove the error and show the site as valid and secure.
Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.
I haven’t found a consistent way to reproduce this issue. It just happens every now and then while browsing secure sites. It started happening a few days back after Brave upgraded to Version 1.17.73 Chromium: 87.0.4280.67 (Official Build) (x86_64)
Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!):
This is a screenshot of the address bar on GMail. It is not a GMail specific issue, as I have seen similar warnings in Google and Dropbox:
Expected result:
Secure sites should be secured all the time.
Reproduces how often:
It happens randomly a few times a day, just while browsing (and it may specifically be when opening links in a new tab, but haven’t been able to confirm).
Operating System and Brave Version(See the About Brave
page in the main menu):
This happens on Mac OS Catalina. Brave version is: 1.17.73 Chromium: 87.0.4280.67 (Official Build) (x86_64).
Additional Information:
I thought this could be a problem with the extensions, so I disabled them but still, it happened. Also, this could be caused by a nasty app/adware/virus installed on my computer, I swapped to Chrome and I didn’t get the issue on that browser (which doesn’t discard the possibility of a virus, but I would have expected to affect both.)
