Playlist stops playing when turning screen off iOS

First off. I :heart: Playlist. Don’t remove the feature please :pray::pray::pray:

Description of the issue:

When in Playlist, videos stop when turning off screen.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Open Playlist and play anything
  2. Turn off screen on iphone
  3. Audio stops
  4. To resume playing one must turn on screen and click play, then audio will continue to play in the background with screen off

Expected result:

I expect audio to continue to play in the background even after screen had been turned off.

Brave Version( check About Brave):
1.35.1

Mobile Device details

Iphone 12 pro

Additional Information:

"enable background audio"is enabled in brave app settings

Can you try updating to 1.36 and see if this still happens to you?
We just published version 1.36, you may need to go to the app store manually to update it

Just updated to 1.36 and the issue still persists.

Sorry, looks like this will be fixed in 1.37, found the relevant ticket
