Since 29th July when using Brave my camera screen is totally pink when i am in a video conversation with someone…i can see them but my screen is pink. My device is not faulty as on other browsers like chrome my screen is perfect and not pink. I have not changed any settings in my camera or in Brave. Has Brave issued an update since 29th July that is causing this pink screen glitch?
I have a similar issue and it started when I got the update to Brave version 1.68.128: all YouTube videos appear as a pink screen. I just posted a report for this issue with more information. Let’s see if anyone else does have similar problems. By the way, what type of mobile device do you use?
Hi Neo72
Thanks for the reply. I’m using an old Samsung AndroidTablet A 2016 Software version 8.1.0. At first i thought my device was faulty when i got the pink screen on Brave…but it can’t be
because on other browsers like
Chrome and Firefox there is no pink
screen, and they both use the chrome system. I thought the pink screen might be due to an update , did you download it and when please? By the way the e mail notification from you went into my junk mail so yours from me might end up in your junk e mail too!..thanks
It looks like we both have the same device, please have a look at my post in this forum earlier today. I verified that the issue was caused by a Brave update by manually installing an older version. The update of the affected Brave version got onto my device last Saturday via Google Play. Let’s hope that the developers will look into this.
Hi i just read your recent post, is there any way of contacting the develepors and telling them about this faulty update?, as far as i can see they rely on this forum for any feedback. I can’t see an e mail address for Brave support…thanks ( is it possible that our devices are no longer compatible with the new Brave version?..(i can’t update the software on my device any further).
As far as I know, this forum is the proper way to contact the developers, so hopefully, they are going to look into this issue.
The requirements for Brave are stated here:
According to this, Android 8 is supported, so our Samsung device is still sufficient. Since it is also able to download and install all of the Brave versions (including the beta and nightly builds) from the official Google Play Store, there should not be any compatibility issues. By the way, negative reviews of Brave are currently increasing on Google Play and the users state that they cannot use YouTube any longer due to this video issue. So it is likely that there are more devices affected by the problem.
