Passwords not showing from CSV

Same on Fedora 41. Passwords gone and trying to install from csv file fails.

@coz When you say “fail,” do you mean the passwords don’t display at all, or something else? If you’re unable to see your saved passwords, it’s likely because your keyring (keychain) isn’t unlocked. As mentioned in the link in my previous post, Brave uses OSCrypt for encrypting passwords. If the keyring isn’t accessible, the passwords can’t be decrypted and will appear as if none are saved, even if they are stored correctly.

Apologies if my Linux terminology isn’t perfect, but essentially, you need to ensure your keyring is unlocked before launching Brave. In some cases, users have reported similar issues where their system wasn’t handling the keyring properly during boot, resulting in it not being available when Brave started.

Hello Saoiray,
What has happened is the csv file, which I always update, has approx. 50 passwords stored. When the other brave update occurred, NONE of the passwords were available and when I tried to reinstall them via the csv file only 2 of the passwords were visible.

@coz I see you mentioned Fedora 41. You’re saying “install from csv.” Do you mean import? Doing it from brave://password-manager/settings?

What version of Brave are you on?

And silly question, but you are saying it’s a CSV from where you did an Export Passwords or whatever, right?

Hello,
Version 1.75.124 brave nightly and yes import from csv file.
Yes I export the passwords whenever I log onto a new site so it is included with the other passwords.
thanks for responding

For this I’ll probably need to leave it to someone from Brave. I see that Mattches has a notice that he’s on vacation until January 6, so let me tag in @steeven and @Evan123 to see if either are able to provide any guidance as it’s a bit strange.

Just keep in mind with it being the holidays here, they may be delayed on responses.

Can you check to see if it happens on the Release or Beta version of Brave? Just want to see if it’s just a Nightly issue or going to happen to them all.

thanks and I understand
