Passwords gone & Sync not working after reinstalling windows

Description of the issue:
So I read that if I copy the appdata folder I safe everything stored in my browser so I did that. Now after reinstalling Windows everything is how it used to be EXCEPT my passwords are gone and when trying to manage sync I get this error:

Brave could not access your operating system’s safe storage. This is what’s used to secure data such as passwords and cookies; it’s also required for Brave Sync to connect your browser profile between devices. This means Brave Sync is not running. To resolve this issue, please see the [Brave Sync troubleshooting guide]

Also when I first started the browser it said that some settings could not be restored because they were corrupted by another program.

I really really need my passwords is there any way I am able to recover them?

Thank you for reaching out and my apologies for the long wait time. The first thing I would suggest , if you haven’t already is try removing the device from the chain (got to Settings --> Sync --> Leave sync chain`` for device), and trying to Sync again fresh. Please update to the latest Brave version.
