Paramount+ adblocking

Description of the issue:

Paramount+ adblocking was raised in the community several times but no solution was provided so far citing that it’s difficult to block it.

However, i ran into this today:

Which is an extension that can skip ads on paramount plus.
Why can’t we incorporate that in brave?

Exact URL of the website in question:

https://www.paramountplus.com/movies/video/HHZr9_VdHqNp4OyrUILutROXwMyVmACD/

Screenshot of the ad as it appears in Brave

“This video is unavailable because we were unable to load message from our sponsors. If you are using ad-blocking software, please disable it and reload the page. Error code : 111.”

Did the issue present with default Shields settings? (yes/no)

yes

Does the site function as expected when Shields are turned off?

yes

Is there a specific Shields configuration that causes the site to break? If so, tell us that configuration. (yes/no):

VPN and any other adblock extension.

Does the site work as expected when using Chrome?

Yes

Brave version (check About Brave):

Any version of brave.

2nd try.

Any thoughts on this?

Umm, dude. Even the topic you linked was marked solved:

Well, I wanted to show a screenshot that I’m not experiencing the issue, but they have the protection so it just shows black screen on screenshot. Nevertheless, I don’t have the issue you’re speaking about. Everything played just fine with Shields up.

As to VPN, that’s going to be your big issue to an extent. To quote from sources online:

Paramount+, just like other streaming services, tries to block VPNs from connecting to its service. It does this to protect itself from potential copyright and licensing issues . Paramount+ only has the rights to broadcast its content in the US

Question is, does it work for you on Brave? I mean, I’m able to view with absolutely no issue here on Brave. Links to things I tested on viewing (doing it so not clickable link, but you can copy/paste)

Thank you for the condescending response.

Not condescending at all. You sat here and claimed nobody has been able to provide a solution and provided a link as an example. I looked at what information you provided and found that a solution had been found. Rather than call you a dumbass or a liar, which would have been condescending, I instead shared that I was confused as the topic you linked to was marked solved. This made no claims or assumptions, it just stated facts and left it remaining for you to describe why you said it had no solution even though one was provided.

I then also made sure to quote what resolved the issue for others. This gave you an option to advise if it’s something you tried and if it worked. While trying to help look for other causes, I spent time researching online for anyone else who experienced difficulties and instead found articles confirming what person in post you linked mentioned, that VPN created conflict and is being blocked by Paramount+.

That said, I know the one screenshot you shared that mentioned not loading because of ad-blocking software was a bit different. So I also tested the website and I was able to view videos. You mentioned an extension and suggested Brave use what the extension does for Shields. I then asked you if you had the extension installed on Brave and if it works? Again, people share things sometimes without testing or will use on a browser other than Brave. So it’s asking for clarity.

And to show issue, you couldn’t respond with any of that. You couldn’t say “oh, I linked to the wrong topic” or “I meant to say that solution didn’t work for me and I couldn’t find any other answers.” Nothing of the sort. Also seems like you couldn’t even manage to respond with “yes, the extension works on Brave and is the only way I’m able to watch Paramount+” or perhaps “I tried turning off my VPN and the result was…”

" You sat here and claimed nobody has been able to provide a solution and provided a link as an example."

Do you always put words in someone’s else mouth?
Where did i say that no one provided a solution?
I asked for “Thoughts”.

Calling me with names is not the only way to talk to someone in a condescending way.
You were talking down on me as if i didn’t do my part?:

“Question is, does it work for you on Brave?”

I said that the version of brave didn’t matter.
All that word salad/wall of text that you wrote can easily be summed down into 4 sentences.

I don’t care if others give false information or mislead the report. you are dealing with someone else entirely.

Umm, I’ll quote you right below:

Yeah, tell me where in the previous post that the solution was clearly outlined.
