Non-HDR Video in Brave is washed out/extremely bright after update on HDR monitor

Description of the issue:

After the most recent update all non-HDR video is washed out/extremely bright on my HDR monitor. Actual HDR video in Brave looks like normal HDR video but anything non-HDR is where I’m seeing the issue. Disabling “Use hardware acceleration when available” does make video normal but HDR is unavailable at that point. If I’m watching a video that is washed out it will temporarily “flash” to normal as the page is moving up or down. When the page stops moving it returns to washed out. At rest it’s always washed out.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Use HDR monitor - HDR on
  2. Use Brave Browser Windows Desktop
  3. Hardware acceleration ON
  4. Play non-HDR video

Expected result:

Watch non-HDR video without being washed out/extremely bright (on an HDR monitor)

Brave Version( check About Brave):

v1.59.120

Additional Information:

Before the latest update I didn’t have this issue whatsoever. Non-HDR video played like it should play with hardware acceleration ON. I have a 1080p non-HDR monitor above my HDR monitor and it plays non-HDR video normal. I understand that turning off hardware acceleration fixes the issue but then I can’t watch HDR video. Being able to watch HDR content was a top reason why I moved to Brave. Only extension I have installed is the 1Password extension.

Thank you for your help!
