Description of the issue:
Night mode does not do anything anymore.
How can this issue be reproduced?
Visit any website that doesn’t already have its own night mode
Go to the horizontal ••• in the top right of the screen
Toggle the night mode option
Expected result:
The background of the website turns black and the text turns white.
Actual result:
Nothing happens, the page doesn’t change at all. Even if you reload it still doesn’t change.

It used to work fine for months, but suddenly stopped working 2 or 3 days ago on all websites across all my devices all at once
@Evan123 seems Brave Community here is one. Tested while on Night mode doesn’t work anymore - #3 by Evan123 and it actually changed the text but not the background. Video of this happening is below. Not sure about other websites and will be curious to see if @BuddyUnicorn777
has any in particular they are experiencing this at.
Interestingly, the main page on CNN worked as intended. But https://www.cnn.com/2024/11/03/us/conservative-christian-coming-out-gay-cec/index.html as a randomly chosen article stayed in light mode the entire time. Unlike other two examples, the text all stayed legible but it’s just that background didn’t change.
Can you guys please restore the old dark mode before the lastest update? It used to work so much better than this one. Almost no website goes into dark mode anymore. Also, YouTube is messing up when playing a video and switching to different apps in iOS 18.1
I chose Brave for its ad blocking and Night shift mode. Night shift simple does not work and others have stated, the old version worked. Can any Brave developers comment on whether this is an issue being worked on or is this just the way it is going to be.
