i did all settings as per in my Brave Browser Custom - Secure DNS using DNS-over-HTTPS https://dns.nextdns.io/xxxxxx. Cloudflare “https://www.cloudflare.com/en-gb/ssl/encrypted-sni” still showing “You may not be using secure DNS” and “Your browser did not encrypt the SNI when visiting this page”.
Do i need some extra settings for this in my Brave browser? or it support only predefined Custom DNS Servers
Version 1.22.70 Chromium: 89.0.4389.105 (Official Build) (x86_64)
I have used that webpage for a long time, and I recommended it on this forum, so I know it pretty well.
That page is conceived and optimized for Cloudflare DNS and not meant to be used with different DNS providers. You said you have NextDNS, so you can’t test your DNS.
Also, “Encrypted SNI” can only be tested using a custom configuration of Firefox.
@gmacar Thanks this is what i thinking it support only Cloudflare DNS… even i tried custom Configuration Firefox to test “Encrypted SNI” never worked but Secure Dns works.
Did you figure it out? I don’t understand his answer and I’m having terrible just connecting to Nextdns as well. I’m not even trying to connect to cloud flare. Should I?
Using 220.127.116.11 For Family!
If this is an answer, I don’t know what you’re saying.
I’m just trying to use next dns. I don’t even see how to use a combo of next dns and next dns.
@Jimmyray sir to use NextDNS first you need to configure your my.nextdns.io after that use “DNS-over-HTTPS” copy that link and paste it in Brave custom DNS thats it. and yes https://www.cloudflare.com/en-gb/ssl/encrypted-sni will always say Secure DNS not working optimized for Cloudflare DOH Secure DNS only.
Use Cloudflare DNS 18.104.22.168 and 22.214.171.124
