New Tab Behavior in Normal Window

Clicking on the New Tab + icon in a normal Brave window opens a new tab and ALSO automatically opens a Private Tor window and switches focus to the new private tor window.

Open a normal window, click +.

A new private TOR window with focus.

A new tab in the normal window with focus.

Every time the new tab + icon is clicked in a normal Window.

MacOS 12.4. Brave 1.45.116

The New Tab page is set to open to the Home Page, which is set to search.brave.com. I assume there is a setting somewhere initiating this behavior but I am unable to find it.

Go to brave://settings/privacy/, in tor windows and disable automatically redirect .onion sites (orange to white)
