Hi, it’s really weird to me how Brave’s only official option to theming besides the color picker is just going to the Chrome themes site, when Brave overrides a lot of stuff in Chrome themes and doesn’t play nice with a lot of them, just an example, the black & white theme by Google on Chrome is supposed to have high contrast white text on all the ianctive tabs, but on Brave it just doesn’t look like that, the inactive tab color is the more opaque gray-ish that it uses on everything else, I’d suggest making Brave follow the Chrome themes better instead of overriding some stuff, or just make a Brave-only theme option, I attached a picture of what I mean, the same theme in Brave (top) vs Chrome (bottom)
Hello,
Brave has a unique approach to customizing its UI, but it does seem like they could give users more control—especially when it comes to compatibility with themes from the Chrome Web Store. It might be more intuitive for them to either:
Follow Chrome’s theme settings more closely, so users can get the full experience with minimal differences.
Provide a Brave-specific theming option, where users can adjust various parts of the UI directly within the browser settings.
Best Regard,
Nipo
