Make Autocomplete less sticky

Currently Brave’s autocomplete is really bad, to the point that some have considered disabling all history-based suggestion just to get rid of it, and it’s difficult to blame them.

When typing in the URL bar, Brave will try to autocomplete on pressing enter, and without ANY input from the user, it will overwrite the existing query and consider it’s own best guess as the actual search. This may be a desirable behaviour to some, but it drives me up the walls, and I’ve found it to waste more of my time than autocomplete saves me.
Please add an option, so that users can set autocomplete to suggestion only and to require the user to select it (click, tab, down arrow, …), otherwise, just search for the actual user input.

Second, under some circumstances, when typing a query that shares a root with an existing suggestion, Brave will interpret a single backspace (to correct a typo) as an instruction to delete everything that has been typed and differs from the suggestion to fall back to that root.
I don’t know how, I don’t know why, and I can’t replicate it when I’m trying but it is something that I’ve encountered, and that is just as infuriating to deal with.

These are issues I’ve never had with any other browser, it seems to me that Brave is trying to be too smart with it’s suggestion for it’s own good. I’m tired of having to fight the autocomplete just to get my browser to do what I told it. I’d like to disable those smart features, because frankly they’re not very, and do so without losing all autocomplete.
