[MacOS Mojave] UI bug on the URL bar

Description of the issue:
Clicking on text on the URL makes the text disappear

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Open Brave
  2. Go to website of your choice (e.g https://brave.com)
  3. Try to click on a text in the url bar
  4. Some parts of the URL will become invisible

Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!):
Text becomes invisible because the cursor highlighter does not show.

However, it is working as expected on the Private mode:

Expected result:
Like on the Private mode, the highlighter should be bluish in color.

Reproduces how often:
Always.

Brave Version(See the About Brave page in the main menu):
Version 0.61.51 Chromium: 73.0.3683.75 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Reproducible on current live release (yes/no):
Yes

Additional Information:
Even tried it on a default theme. Same result.

Thanks for reaching out!
I believe this has to do with the theme taking on some elements of the theme your OS is currently set to:


There have been a few issues surrounding this and we are sorting them out as they come. I’ll make sure the team sees this to make sure it gets addressed.

Hi Mattches! Sorry for the late response, but thanks for the reply. My currrent workaround is to set the browser’s theme in Dark so that the text in the URL bar will not be invisible. :slight_smile:
