Lost Uphold wallet. What now?

Briefly describe your issue:

So I lost my wallet a number of months ago. And everytime I click on the triangle where my rewards are all I see is the option to log into Uphold, and I don’t know if I can disconnect it, and what options I have for a wallet.

What Operating System and Brave version are you using? (Menu --> Help --> About Brave)

Mac Sonoma 14.7

Who is your verified custodian or self-custody? (Uphold/Gemini/bitFlyer/Solana)

Ex-Uphold

Are you in a supported region? (see here for list of supported regions)

I’m in Canada

@Dhji you can reset your Rewards, such as instructed at https://support.brave.com/hc/en-us/articles/10007969237901-Resetting-Brave-Rewards if you are saying you no longer have Uphold.

As to any options for earning, about all you can do is try for on chain I suppose. You may want to read through everything I share at PSA: Current and upcoming changes to Rewards and Creators

Oh wow yeah I’d like to keep whatever I may have gained (if any at all) rather than reset. Is there a way to just disconnect Uphold and put in another wallet?

Cheers

@Dhji you have nothing according to what you have said. Let me be clear on this. Brave got rid of what was called vBAT last year. When this went away, it meant the only way we can earn BAT is by being connected to a custodial partner, such as Uphold. While connected, all payments would go to Uphold.

This means if you have been connected and earning, all BAT went to Uphold and would be sitting there. Resetting your Rewards would do nothing to the BAT you have on Uphold.

If you lost your Uphold account, then that means you also lost all of your BAT. Or at least you would have to be in contact with Uphold to find out if they can release the funds or whatever. I do not know your circumstance, but this would be for you and Uphold to discuss and handle…nothing Brave could do.

Currently the only options to earn BAT in Canada is to either use Uphold or to get on-chain.
