Linux Brave Nightly recently fails to sync passwords

Description of the issue:

Previously used autofill passwords are gone in brave on linux.

All passwords are still available in brave on my android device.

Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.

Reproduces how often:

Brave Version(See the About Brave page in the main menu):


Version 1.78.64 Chromium: 135.0.7049.28 (Official Build) nightly (64-bit)

Type of devices currently running on the Sync chain in question:

linux brave nightly (failing to sync)
android brave 1.76.73 chromium 134.0.6998.45

Additional Information:

brave://sync-internals show following message for type password:

Error: GetAllDataForDebugging@components/password_manager/core/browser/sync/password_sync_bridge.cc:946, model error was encountered: Failed to load entries from the password store.

Pending Brave Browser Nightly version, might fix:

Nightly and Beta have the same problem, I had to revert to the stable version.

It started with Nightly, I migrated to Beta which worked normally, and now Beta also started having the same problem today.

A regular automatic ubuntu update installed
Brave Version 1.79.3 Chromium: 135.0.7049.28 (Official Build) nightly (64-bit)

I used the Update button in Brave and the newly started instance had all passwords synced within minutes.
