Why would the results have to be neutral? If 90% of search results indicate evolution is probably real and 10% say evolution is fabricated by mankind, then you think the results should be 50/50 to elevate the religious bias opinion and dumb down the scientific result which is most likely true? I gave a non political answer to make a point about why the two sides don’t have to be necessarily represented the same exact way.
@sh1nrin-yoku, I’d recommend checking out the links below for more information:
I also wrote up some additional information that I intended to add to the help section, but it’s currently pending approval after the recent category changes. I’ll share it here for you as well, as it may help answer some of your questions:
Why a Goggle May Not Work as Expected
When a Goggle is created, it’s essentially a list of websites with settings to either discard (remove from results), boost (increase likelihood of appearing), or downrank (decrease likelihood of appearing) certain sites in search results.
Sometimes, the name of a Goggle might not fully align with what we expect. For example, News From The Right is set to boost certain right-leaning sources, but it doesn’t downrank or discard any left-leaning results. This means you may still see left-leaning results even with this Goggle enabled.
Boosting and downranking in Goggles use values from 1 to 10, with 10 having the most impact. The News From The Left and News From The Right Goggles use a boost level of 4 at most, meaning they slightly prioritize certain sources without excluding others.
When you visit the Goggles Discover Page, you’ll see About This Goggle buttons for each Goggle. These links take you to the Goggle’s source code, where you can view all settings and syntax. For example, News From The Right contains $boost rules but no $discard or $downrank rules. This shows you the websites it prioritizes (like PragerU or Breitbart) but doesn’t hide or downrank other sources.
Keep in Mind the Purpose of Default Goggles
The default Goggles, like News From The Left and News From The Right, were created by All Sides as examples. Brave has made some of these Goggles easier to use by adding them to the default options, but they are maintained (or should be) by All Sides. However, they haven’t been updated since July 28, 2023.
Take some time to explore different Goggles to find one that fits your preferences. If none meet your needs, you might consider creating your own Goggle. Your custom Goggle could even be a helpful resource for others!
Yeah, science doesnt apply in this instance. I gave a very clear search question and it gave the complete opposite results. This isnt 1+1=2. Listing locations where Republicans can help in Pennsylvania doesnt need to be dummed down to get correct feedback.
Your logic doesnt apply here at all.
