Launching Brave Browser From Taskbar or Desktop Icons Issue

When “initially” launching Brave from either the taskbar or desktop icons, the browser rapidly opens; however, if the browser is closed and launched again, the browser is slow to open, or it takes several “clicks” to open successfully. Is there a way to prevent this issue?

This issue occurs on both my desktop PC running updated Windows 8.1 as well as my laptop running undated Windows 10 (1903). My Brave version is Version 0.68.132 Chromium: 76.0.3809.132 (Official Build) (64-bit)

This issue is not sporadic, but occurs on both machines every time the Brave browser in launched.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks for reaching out to us. I’m wondering if there’s any way you could share a short screen recording of the behavior as you see it on your end? It would help get a better idea of the type of “lag” you’re experiencing.

I figured out how to record my screen using the Xbox Game Bar; however, it does not record my actual desktop, only the active window.

I can take a video using Microsoft PowerPoint. Would that work for you?

It’s actually easier to use LICEcap.
