Description of the issue:
On a fresh Windows 11 with all the updates installed I had my settings in Edge (that were restored as they were linked to MS account I always use), but when I’ve tried to import it into fresh Brave installation it immediately closed browser without any message. It also did not log any error in Windows Event Viewer. I’ve narrowed it down to the point that only selecting import passwords trigger this behavior, I was able to import history, bookmarks and search engines (3 out of 4 options).
How can this issue be reproduced?
- Open browser, use any import option (either “offered on fresh start”, brave://settings/importData or import bookmarks link)
- Select Edge profile 1 entry from dropdown
- Choose any settings as long as import passwords is selected
Expected result:
Data is imported, browser is still open
