CRASH!
I am seeing same issue during initial install of Brave on Windows 11.
Thank you both for reporting this. Testing on Windows 10 and I do not see this issue — it may be Win11 specific. Will have another team member test the behavior and get back to you when I know more.
@seitz,
Can you share the crash report IDs with me so we can take a closer look? You’ll find them in brave://crashes
. Note that if the crash report has not yet been submitted, you’ll have to do so manually before the ID appears (you’ll see Send now
under the report if it hasn’t been sent yet).
Thank you
I opened another tab, and the crash upload information was visible there:

Thank you for the information — looking into these now
Is there any additional information I can provide to help you solve this issue?
We have an issue opened for this for the devs to review — I will ping a couple to make sure we get eyes on this as well as ask if there is any other information you can provide that will be helpful:
What else can I do to help resolve this? Is there a debug build I could run that would provide additional data for the developers?
I’ll ask and let you know — of note, you can go to (in Edge) Settings --> Passwords --> Additional Settings --> Export passwords
(next to the add password button) to export your passwords to your machine from Edge.
Then, you can go to Settings --> Autofill & passwords --> Passwords --> Settings --> Import passwords
to import passwords from Edge.
Thanks for the workaround. I’d prefer to help get the bug fixed, if possible. If not, I’ll try the workaround.
Hey Team,
I have the exact same issues - multiple crash files have been submitted.
Thanks for the password workaround…
- J
Having the exact same issue, couldn’t find a real solution anywhere.
The workaround for me was to instead of using the ‘Welcome’ tab when first launching it to import my stuff, I used the option from the Settings menu except the password one, then proceeded to use the passwords import workaround left here by @Mattches. That way I could import everything I had at Edge.
Hope this get fixed and more people find this workaround for now.
Thank you!
Hey folks, just thought I’d throw my name in the hat as I’m having the same issue. I’ll attempt the workaround and see what happens.
