Lagging when interacting with the browser

After recently installing Linux Mint to my laptop, then installing Brave right away, I’ve noticed lag when I’m just idle with the “New tab” open, that’s it. I’ve already looked up solutions, including turning off hardware acceleration, and the lag is lessened but persists, mostly whenever I scroll through the page

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Install Brave
  2. Open Brave
  3. Move mouse/Scroll through a website

Expected result:
No lag
