Issues with twitch on brave

When I use twitch the interactive buttons like the log in button or accept cookies button do not work. Both with shield on and off. I even deleted all my extensions to make sure that isn’t the problem and I cleared my cache. I also get the error that the browser isn’t supported while trying to log in. I can still watch streams but just can’t log in/ accept or reject cookies. I have tried to find solutions in other posts about this issue but couldn’t find one that worked. It does work when I use tor+vpn wierdly enough. Thank you in advance to anyone that helps.

www.twitch.tv

Did the issue present with [default Shields settings] yes

Does the site work as expected when using Chrome? yes it does

Brave version v1.73.97

Ok for me spamming the reject cookies and the log in button really fast after each other worked . Idk why that worked but that actually fixed everything.

@lagg,
Just to confirm, you’re no longer having any of those issues on Twitch at this time?

Same here, I can’t login anymore and twitch says that this browser is not supported. Pressing the accept cookies or login button does not work. Reset cookies and site data. Put shield off but nothing fixes it.

Not having any issues with Twitch on my end. cc @fanboynz to take a look

Tested here, twitch could be having issues “browser is not supported” is just a general error used, nothing specific to Brave.

Would test with/without a VPN also.

Hello, when attempting to log into Twitch on Brave Beta, it’s telling me that Brave is an unsupported browser, and won’t let me log in. Not quite sure what to do.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Download latest Brave Beta build
  2. Open Twitch and attempt to log in

Expected result:
To be able to log into Twitch normally

Brave Version( check About Brave):
Version 1.74.20 Chromium: 131.0.6778.108 (Official Build) beta (64-bit)

Additional Information:
I was able to log into Twitch about four days ago just fine.

Its a common error message

I am having the same issue. Over the past year I have had issues with the follow/unfollow buttons not functioning on twitch, but it seemingly resolved itself.

As of a couple of days ago, it started again, but also did not allow me to follow/unfollow on 3rd Party twitch apps on tv/android either.

I searched the web and saw people saying in countless posts to log out, clear cache and cookies, and log back in. This time it would not let me log back in.

I’ve tried clearing cahce, clearing cookies, disabling/enabling brave shields, disabling all other ad/tracking blocker extensions, vpn on/off, 10+ different vpn locations, user agent spoofing, whatever I can do.

It will refuse to let me login with the Unsupported Browser error message no matter what.

The only thing that has made a difference is using another browser. So for now I just have firefox open just for twitch.

Went to settings, more tools, Open guest profile. Login worked fine but obviously no plugins. Brave shield is up and no problems.

Still can’t login or anything on my main profile…

I just tried both private window and guest profile. I got the same results as my last comment. Unable to login. Same results with/without shields, with/without vpn. Still, the only thing that makes a difference is using another browser.

I also have a good number of websites that give me the “Press and Hold” pill-shaped human verification button. But the button just results in the verification reloading over and over, preventing me from accessing the websites. ie harbor freight, sweetwater. This issue also started in conjunction with my issues with twitch, and I feel that both are just a symptom of singular cause.

These steps seemed to have fixed the issue.

  1. Search for brave:///flags
  2. Search for “Enable dark mode blocking fingerprinting protection” and enabled it
  3. Search for “Auto Dark Mode for Web Contents” and enable it
  4. Navigate to history and select “Clear browsing data”
  5. Select “All time”
  6. Check mark only “Cookies and other site data,” and “Site and Shields settings.”
  7. Click “clear data”
  8. Restart Brave Browser.

Yeah that’s correct idk why but spamming a button fixed it.
