Issue with YouTube notification slider bar

I’ve been having an issue with my brave browser in regards to media and videos. Whenever I play a video and the slider bar shows up at the top of the notification page. It doesn’t work when I try to slide it back to restart the video. My app is up to date I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled but I’m trying to figure out how to get it to work again. The device I’m using is Android.

@Jman321,
Thank you for reaching out.
Can you share a screenshot of the exact element on the YT page you’re describing? I’m a bit unclear on exactly what “slider bar” you’re referring to.

Absolutely. This is what I’m talking about that shows up at the top when a video plays. I used to be able to move the bar back to restart a video but it hasn’t worked in about a month.

Following up to make sure my message with screenshot went through.

@Jman321 it did but it’s the weekend when Support usually isn’t active, so may have to wait until after weekend

Copy that, thank you sir

@Jman321,
So there does seem to be some kind of issue with this widget, but I can restart the video. On my end, when I drag or tap on the video timeline, there appears to be some bug where the time elapsed displayed on the widget doesn’t change or at least doesn’t change immediately. However, I do actually jump to the place I tap/drag the bar in the actual video itself.

To confirm, when you adjust that bar in the widget, nothing happens at all?

So I went ahead and opened this issue reporting my personal findings. Can you read through the description I’ve created here and tell me if the exact behaviors match what you’re seeing on your end?

My apologies for the delay in response. I can tap and it goes to where I tap, but it’s not accurate like sliding the bar. It’s difficult to do it that way. That’s the only way it is currently working. It used to work fine but I don’t know what caused the issue. I guess if you’re saying it’s a bug then I’m sure that Brave knows about this?

Whoops apologies — I opened this issue for the devs to review:

Thank you so much for your help. So is there currently no fix for this? Also this is my first time posting on this thread for anything. If the is a fix will they reach out to me or will you and I continue to communicate?

@Jman321,
No worries. And that is correct, there is no fix available for this right now. Hopefully our Android devs will triage this issue out and be able to address it shortly.

For now, I will keep this thread open and update you here when I have any new information on this issue. Additionally, you can keep an eye on the Github issue as well for updates.

Thank you again. Hopefully they come up with a fix, as this was a useful widget to use for media.
