Incorrect interface text letter-spacing in macOS Catalina

Description of the issue: Incorrect interface text letter-spacing in macOS Catalina

How can this issue be reproduced? Currently, all the interface text in Brave Browser that uses San Francisco Font is not displaying letter-spacing correctly. This doesn’t seem to include websites content.

Brave Version( check About Brave): Version 0.68.139 Chromium: 77.0.3865.90 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Additional Information: I’m running macOS Catalina beta 5 (10.15 Beta (19A546d)). It is not the latest Catalina beta. Please test if the issue persists in the latest version.

Hey there! Any chance you could highlight or outline the spacing errors? Some more context and specificity would be helpful.

I’ve noticed the same thing since the last update.

For instance on LinkedIn, the font spacing is a bit too narrow.

I’ve noticed the same thing in Catalina (macOS 10.15). The letter spacing in tabs, the URL bar, and bookmarks has tighter kerning than before, and it’s also different from other applications. For example:

brave-kerning

It seems to be only where Brave is using the system font. It’s fine in on websites and in places like brave://settings/ where other fonts are being used.

Actually, correction: It does seem to affect some sites. Here, for example, is the difference between WordPress in Brave and Safari (Brave is the more condensed text):

I’m seeing the same thing on some sites after updating to Catalina last week.
