Brave recently introduced a night mode feature on iOS devices. However, it has a very static engine. Some pages have black background, but night mode inverts the colours anyway, causing them to look even worse with night mode. Desktop extensions like Dark Reader dynamically analyze page contents and only invert colours that need to be inverted. Please add a dynamic engine to the iOS night mode for a more pleasurable night reading experience. It would also be nice to be able to whitelist certain websites from night mode when enabled.
I second this suggestion.
Attached is an example of a website with a dark background.
With nightmode enabled the background gets inverted unnecessarily.
Having night-mode have the ability to detect whether the background is already dark would be nice.
We desperately need a smart night mode. I keep having to switch manually back and forth.
And the main thing that needs to be improved in night mode is the — white “loading screen”.
Example:
1 - open new page/tab
2 - Click on random bookmark in the “favorite” “widget” / or / open bookmarks and click on random bookmark you save
3 - and then you see white “loading screen”/“waiting screen” (before site is not loaded in 100%) — when night mode is ON.
The most problematic part of Night Mode is the picture dimming which dulls the appearance of some images beyond desirability. Just adding an off switch for picture dimming would be enough for me, but maybe there could be a slider to fine tune based on preference. Or possibly it could just be made to work better.
