I have a new laptop and phone. I imported Brave browser passwords to the new laptop without issue. Cannot figure out how to import the passwords to the tablet version of Brave.
**In the Brave tablet version, if you go into 1. settings 2. password manager 3. hit the three black dots in upper right hand corner 4. you can chose to export passwords but there is no choice there to import passwords. **
Reproduces how often? Always.
**Brave Version 1.52.130, Chromium 114.0.5735.198 **
laptop: Microsoft Surface Pro 9 with Windows 11. Tablet: Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4.

@jackwalksintherain,
Thank you for reaching out to us.
I would recommend using Brave Sync for this process:
If you follow the sync instructions, they refer to things which do not exist. Not on my version of Brave.
@jackwalksintherain I just tested, it all works. If nothing else, can check out my little FAQ list for sync.
@jackwalksintherain,
I see — it seems like you’re doing this in reverse order, which should still work. However I do find it easier to do when the Sync chain starts on the desktop device. There may seem like a lot of steps below but it’s actually quite straightforward so bear with me. I would recommend the following:
- On your tablet, launch Brave and go to
Settings --> Sync
- At the bottom, tap
Delete Sync account
- Close the browser once this is done.
Now you should not have any Sync chains on any of your devices, so we can start fresh. Once that’s done, try the following:
- Launch Brave on your laptop
- Go to
Settings --> Sync --> Start using Sync --> Start a new Sync chain
- Select
Computer
- Make sure you save your Sync code on the next screen somewhere easy to access
- Keep this Sync page open
You’ve now created a Sync chain to Sync data from your laptop version of the browser to other versions of the browser. From here (using your tablet as an example):
- Launch Brave on the tablet
- Go to
Settings --> Sync --> Start using Sync
- Select
I have a Sync code
and you will then be asked to scan your Sync code (you may also use the code words, but I’d try scanning first as it is quicker).
- On the desktop version of Brave, on the Sync page, click
View Sync code
and you will see your code words again. Click the View QR code
button at the bottom:

- Now scan the resulting QR code with your tablet and your devices will Sync.
From here, all you need to do is specify what types of data you want to share between devices on this chain.
Let me know if this works for you.
Think I got it now. Had to delete old sync chain.
