Import bookmarks and settings not working on new Brave update

Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.
In New Brave, I click on Settings, then Import Bookmarks and Settings and I select OLD Brave and leave every item checkmarked. I then click Import and nothing is transferred.

Additional Information:

I know I can export my bookmarks from Old Brave and import them into New Brave, but this update, I mean brand new browser install, should have handled it automatically.

I was able to import my bookmarks & settings after reading about it here.

Bottom line is to use the “Import Bookmarks & Settings” options on the new Brave, select Old Brave, but de-select Bookmarks. I checked and all my settings, logins, & passwords were successfully migrated.

I then manually exported my bookmarks from Old Brave, and manually imported them. Of course they end up in a folder called Imported, but you can move them back to your normal folder or bookmark bar.

What an ordeal, but I’m back to normal functioning browsing with new Brave. Thanks.
