I really want to love this Browser... but the crashes

The browser is fine I guess - most of the time - there does seem to be delays in search results and pages loading compared to Chrome. I run a lot of tabs for work and have generally had 3 to 5 browser windows open with anything from 10 to 30 tabs. I know, it’s a lot. But I have worked this way for over 6 years on this laptop with no issues. I’ve mainly used Chrome but find sometimes a tab will hog memory and need to be closed. But this will generally be a single tab… I’ve been using Brave for over 2 weeks now and every day or so it will just crash. I only ever have 2 browser sessions open and still use Chrome for my important stuff as I just can’t lose work.

There’s just no way I can make a permanent move to Brave. I’ve read a couple of posts here and uploaded 15 crash reports since 7th November.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Generally happens when opening a new tab
  2. Netflix seems to cause it
    3.Youtube also seems to have an impact on stability

Expected result:
Crash > Restore

Brave Version( check About Brave):

Version 1.73.89 Chromium: 131.0.6778.69 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Just a suggestion, that you edit your Original Post, above, and break down your first paragraph into three parts - for those of us who need new eyeglasses.

And, make BOLD, the following, that you have:

uploaded 15 Brave Browser crash reports since 7th November

Thanks.

@Virtualburn,
I’ve forwarded your crash reports to our devs for review.
In the meantime, can you try disabling Graphics Acceleration in the browser and test to see if you still get these same crashes? You can do this by launching Brave and going to Settings --> System --> Graphics acceleration.

@Virtualburn,
The crashes appear to be occurring due to an OOM (out of memory) error. I would be intersted in seeing a screenshot of the browser task manager open while Brave is running so we can see which processes are using the most memory.
