I pay for Brave Search Premium, but can't use it

I’m paying for Brave Search Premium subscription and it works in Brave browser, but for now I use Vivaldi and when I verify my email and complete the redirection procedure back to search - it asks me to try Premium again. Is this by design? Shouldn’t search be independent from the browser and just work for me if I pay for the service? I don’t remember that somewhere there were terms specifying that Premium works only in Brave. Can you recheck, maybe it’s a bug?
I want to support the company, but I also want to use it legally without ads, for example.

PS rechecked in Google Chrome - same picture, shows that my account is activated, but not working in actual search UI.

At this time, Premium features can only be used in the browser.

You mean only in Brave Browser? But why…? This is independent product and I pay for it, not for the Browser in this case.
I’ll still continue to pay just to support the company, but I’d wanted to be “search” customer independently of the browser.

@0x49D1 I understand that and this may change in the future but at this time you’ll need to use Brave in order to take advantage of the Premium services.

Where is this information disclosed? It does not seem to appear in the Premium page before the payment

@Slyfox I think part of the issue at this point is that they don’t have accounts on Search. Though really wish I could get Search time, such as @solso to explain why they don’t have it set to allow for accounts. And even more importantly, why they don’t allow for Premium to kick in when using other browsers.

In terms of information on the Premium page and all, I know it’s been talked about with @steeven and @Mattches. I’m hoping they can get the page(s) updated to give people warnings that it’s only applicable to people using Brave as a browser, if that’s the case.

@Saoiray Yes I think it is barely legal right now, and not a good image for the company

@Saoiray @Slyfox @0x49D1 The account pages are now updated with the right information. Premium Search FAQ has been updated as well. Thank you for drawing attention to this topic.

@jlop I see it was changed at https://search.brave.com/help/premium where it now includes Brave Search Premium is exclusively available on the Brave Browser. but…

https://account.brave.com/?intent=checkout&product=search doesn’t show. This is where it takes when clicking on the options to sign up.

And it doesn’t show up once signed in to pay:

Not sure if perhaps it’s yet to change if you just recently modified, but at least wanted to pinpoint what I am seeing when just went to double check.

NOTE

Also nothing about it at https://brave.com/premium/

Thanks for the FAQ update! This is why I really love Brave, for fixes and openness. I do not like the relation of “search” to the Browser, but this is just the case of promotion for you, why not. I will still pay to support the search, being Vivaldi’s user (for now).

@Saoiray that’s because you are visiting the page with the Brave Browser. Here is a screenshot from Chrome. Users cannot even purchase it here anymore.

Ooh, I see. Thanks @jlop

Still an issue though, the warning (or disclaimer) should appear in the payment page while using Brave Browser as well. If someone ends up to the payment page without reading the FAQ page, this person might have the assumption that it can be used with all the browsers. At least this is my two cents…
