Request: Make Brave Search Premium available on other browsers

I am not yet a Brave Search Premium user, but I am willing to pay for a quality, ad-free search engine so long as I can use it on whatever browser I want. According to the relevant help page:

Brave Search Premium is exclusively available on the Brave Browser.

Currently, I use Gecko/Firefox-based browsers on both desktop & mobile. In the future, I may migrate to Ladybird or Servoshell as their development progresses. Are there any plans to bring Brave Search Premium to other browsers, especially those with non-Chromium engines?

@tumango I believe they are considering it for the future but there’s just a lot of debate on how they want to do it. Everything they do tends to put a lot of distance between them and our data, as they don’t want to collect anything about us. Having an account tied into Search could open doors to anything being connected to us as there would have to be linkage of some form or fashion.

I’m wanting to say they are able to circumvent this using Brave by building out the verification and token a different way, where it can essentially validate the subscription but not have it specifically linked to any account.

I’m not sure how accurate I am in my explanation of things and might be completely off base, but at least wanted to drop in to share what I think they have mentioned in the past when asked about it. Even if not exact, at least is a hint as to they “why.”

But yeah…definitely being considered but they haven’t announced any roadmap or movement to it.
