HTTPS websites shown as being insecure

Description of the issue: HTTPS websites shown as being insecure

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Open stuttgarter-zeitung.de

Expected result: Website will open without any warnings.

Actual result: You will see a warning about an insecure connections.

Brave Version( check About Brave): 1.6.2 (79.0.3945.93)

Mobile Device details Android 5

Additional Information: This error is annoying. The website certificate is - as far as I can tell - spotless. See screenshot. This error/warning appears from time to time. Sometimes playing around at chrome://net-internals/#dns will solve the problem. But most often it does not.

@Brave_user,
The site appears as secure on Desktop and on Android:

Can you tell me what region you’re located in and what type of Android device you’re using?

At the time of this reply the site is shown as being secure again.

I’m using a Samsung tablet with Android 5 (yes, that’s old, I know). Locales are set to German. IP geolocation would show a place in New Jersey (VPN).

The issue is reoccurring every few days. When I inspect the certificate it seems to be OK (as my screenshot shows). Unfortunately there is no way to tell what exactly is triggering the insecure website warning.

Or do you know a way to show what exactly might be wrong with a certificate on Android?

@Brave_user,
Truthfully, no I’m not sure.
What I can do is check again in a couple hours (just checked now, shows the same) and see if I get the site insecure warning you mention. It may be an issue with the site itself.
I’ll let you know what I find out.
