How to make Gmail my default email in Brave?

I’d like to know how to make Gmail open when I click on the email
envelope on a website so I can email the story?

You should be able to do this from brave://settings/handlers. Once you’ve enabled the feature, visit Gmail and check your address bar. You should be prompted to make Gmail your default email handler. Please let me know if you run into any issues with this process.

Hi sampson,

Thanks for your reply, but when I go to site settings “handlers” is set to on.
When I go to gmail I don’t get anything in the address bar like you said.

Please help.

Can you tell me what your default email handler is right now? If you have it set to an application that is installed locally on your machine, this will override Brave’s handler I believe.

Ok, that makes since because Mozilla Thunderbird is my default at the moment.

To resolve this, go to your Windows search bar and type in Default apps. In the default apps settings menu, Mail should be the first option you see:

Change this app to Brave and you should be good to go :slight_smile:
