How to import json file to bookmarks

I reset my PC and forgot to export my bookmarks. Luckily I have a backup service that saved the Bookmarks json file containing all the bookmark information. However, I am struggling to figure out how to import it into my new Brave browser. I am able to open the new browser’s bookmark json file in vscode and am considering copying and pasting the old browser’s json into the new browser’s json file, but I can see it uses an id field, which may cause conflicts? Is there a bullet proof way to merge the two json files into one new one that the new browser will work with?

Additional Information:

I think the least risky way would be to create a new profile, replace the bookmarks file there, and copy+paste the root bookmark folders into your active profile. Then you can remove the new profile.

Create a new folder to paste them into, then arrange everything properly in the Bookmarks Manager (Ctrl+J).
