How to get rid of 'popover'? (Desktop Browser)

Yesterday a page that I visit frequently (and have pinned) started displaying a large grey area that blocks much of the usable content. The site is one where people post ham radio contacts they have made, which helps you see who you might potentially contact. This is the site: http://dxsummit.fi/

Other browsers display the page without the grey area, but I really like Brave and would like to figure this out somehow. It is not the Sidebar, BTW. I tried blocking the element but may not have done that correctly, as there was no change. Thoughts?

Well, I found a fix: You must repeatedly right click, select Block Element, then click Create, and after several executions of these steps, the thing will go away.

This is not how I would imagine that blocking an element would be done, but now I know.
