I don’t know if this is a bug, but somehow now my tabs are showing up as a grid view and not the stacked view I am used to, and I have no clue how to change it back. I can’t seem to find how to change it back anywhere in the settings. Please help.
I reported the same thing, hope they revert it back to as it was or atleast give an option to change it back.
Hi, @Farkus, I have looked extensively through my own settings and there does not appear to be a way to view stacked, as before.
Disable these 4 flags. I’m not sure how long chromium will give access to these flags.
Edit: Tab groups flag disabling not needed but other 3 needs to be disabled.
That worked perfectly, thanks!
Thank you for providing this workaround.
I disabled these four but my tabs still show in a grid view instead of stacked. Any other ideas? This is a terrible waste of screen space
@J9Dore,
In the browser, go to Settings --> Appearance --> Enable tab groups
and toggle this option “off”.
Thank you, this worked!
Public service announcement, if you had previously followed the chrome://flags steps above you may find that the “Settings → Appearance → Enable tab groups” is already set to “off” and yet are still seeing tab groups/grids. To fix it do the following:
- toggle “Settings → Appearance → Enable tab groups” = “On”
- relaunch
- toggle “Settings → Appearance → Enable tab groups” = “Off”
- relaunch
That finally removed the grid view for me. For reference here is are my version details:
