How to change Brave settings to access blocked sites

I came to a site that Brave blocked indicating it is “not secure”. I went to Settings | Privacy and Security and changed the “safe browsing” from “standard” to “no protection”.

Nothing changed. Can’t access the site.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance,

Terry

@terryZ,
Thank you for reaching out to us.
Definitely do not turn of safe browsing – I highly recommend keeping it on as it keeps you safe from dangerous/malicious sites.

For the site in question, would you mind sharing the link so that I can take a look on my end?

Sure, here it is:

http://www.techshield.us

It’s a computer retail & repair store in my neighborhood lol

@terryZ,
So I am not able to land on this site either, but I’m not being warned about it. Rather, I seem to land on what appears to be an unused domain/placeholder:

I get the same results in both Chrome and Brave. Can you share a screenshot of what you see on your end?

The place I used to work at has an unsecured site. Brave opens it up with no problem though indicates that It’s unsecure. I guess this techshield site is just screwed up.

All I get is a blank screen. It’s not really a problem. I just needed their phone number which I got from Google. No need to go further with this.

Thanks a lot Mattches. <3

This is my first post here. How do I get to settings so I can change my avatar, etc?

@terryZ,
Click on your current default avatar icon on the top right of the page, then use the Profile icon:

Alternatively, you can go to the URL https://community.brave.com/u/terryZ/preferences/account directly :slight_smile:

Ok. Thank again, Mattches. You’ve been very helpful.
